Our experienced guides will take you to incredible vistas, gentle cascades, waterfalls, majestic ancient forests, crystal clear mountain streams, old home sites, graveyards and hidden trails.
We are experts in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, medicinal and edible uses of wild plants and mushrooms, wild animals and their habits, backpacking, primitive skills, outdoor survival, and local human history, including the Cherokee and early settlers.
The Smokies are rich in Settler history. Take a gentle walk in the woods and learn all about the amazing life and death struggles that these mountain people encountered as they carved out a life for themselves. On this walk you will visit an old schoolhouse, a cemetary and a farmstead, all while exploring a beautiful mountain forest.
This walk takes place in an area rich with human history, controversy and scenic beauty. The trail is a wide, gentle grade that parallels the misnamed Little River with its dramatic and scenic white water and cascades. Our walk will be peppered with several stops along the way as we learn about the plants, animals, geology and rich human history of this special region.
